Granville House is the only house still occupying its original accommodation in the main school building, giving it a unique position being the closest to all the main school facilities. Over that period the house has expanded and now occupies a vast area on two floors above the main school corridor. The house is named after The 2nd Earl Granville, who was the third President of the College.
Robert Young was appointed Housemaster of Granville in September 2009.
Rob and his wife Rebecca together with newly arrived son Rafe, their two dogs, Jacques and Dipsy, and cat, Tigger, are are the first husband and wife team in Granville for over 30 years. Their aim is to bring a family atmosphere to the house, one where boys can live and work in a relaxed and friendly environment. Previously a tutor in Holman, Rob has been teaching Economics at the College for the past five years since arriving from Northamptonshire Grammar School in 2006. He is a self-confessed sports fanatic and coaches as many teams as he can, including the U14 A Rugby, U15 B Hockey and U15 A Cricket teams. He also has family connections at Epsom being the brother-in-law of Fayrer Housemaster Stuart Head, as well as having two uncles who are Old Epsomians.
Rebecca has taken a break from her demanding career as a Property Manager in London but still takes an active part in College life by coaching various sports and acting as a tutor in Crawfurd House.
They are supported by a dedicated team of academic tutors and housekeepers.
