U4 girls in costume at the Rosebery soiree
Attended by a large audience of parents and guests, the Rosebery House soiree held last week saw some dazzling performances from the girls, who performed a variety of acts based on the theme Under the Sea.
College Catering Manager Bev Spencer and her team transformed Big School into a veritable Seascape, complete with rubber lobsters and fishing nets. Guests enjoyed blue-themed pre-dinner drinks followed by a meal of fish, chips and cheesecake.
The M4s led the evening's proceedings, with Ellie Percival and Katie O'Donnell singing Biffy Clyro's When We Collide. Phoebe Gibson also impressed the audience with her gravity-defying show of flexibility in a gym routine and the entire group rapped to Rhianna and Eminem's smash sensation, Love the Way you Lie.
The U4s collaborated on a deep-sea interpretation of In the Jungle, with home-made instruments and fantastic costumes. They also performed a few dance routines, again showing off their costumes as skills learnt in Textile and Design activities benefited this year's soiree.
The 5th form sang Beyonce's Put a Ring on It while shimmying in shark fins and a select group performed Beyond the Sea, sartorially attired in trilby hats. The girls then sang a rousing rendition of Kiss the Girl from The Little Mermaid, where Bella Kristiansen and Annabel Lee stole the show as Sebastian the Crabs.
The L6th followed, dancing to Splish Splash, while Rachel Mewett - on crutches - serenaded the audience with Rhianna's Umbrella.
Finally, the U6 concluded the evening with So Long, Farewell from The Sound of Music, a treat which has become something of a Rosebery tradition.
