The girls had the chance to relax at the The Lakes Resort before the busy day ahead
Today the group chilled out at The Lakes Resort in the morning, preparing for the busy day ahead that has been described as Manic Monday!
At noon, the girls travelled to Trinity Bay State High School and were greeted by the netball squad and hundreds of schoolchildren on their lunch break.
The U17A VII won their game 11-6, while the U17Bs won 7-3. Camilla Green played particularly well for the A team in front of her family, fresh in from Port Douglas, and Maddy Billings covered the length of the court despite the extreme Cairns heat. Yas El-Sayeed made her debut for the A team and also contributed some fine play.
To round off a successful series of matches, the U17C VII won their match 7-4, ably led by captain Sam Duff.
Immediately following the netball matches, the party was whisked away to the Cairns Hockey Centre where the U17B XI played Cairns High School's first team. Although they lost 2-4, Caoimhe Murdock and Becca Wood played well in the centre of the pitch, while Steph Fernandes continues to perform well in goal.
After returning to the hotel to freshen up, the party checked out and were transferred to Cairns Airport for a quick flight to Darwin in the Northern Territory, where we landed at 10pm to be met with a temperature of 28 degrees C.
