Over 240 pupils sat pre-testing at the College this week
This week the Admissions Department welcomed Year 6 pupils to the College for pre-testing prior to Common Entrance.
Two very successful afternoons saw in excess of 240 ten and eleven year olds sit the tests, which have been introduced for the first time this year and form a new stage in the College's admissions process.
Along with an increasing number of leading senior independent schools that admit children at age 13, Epsom has started pre-testing in response to the rising demand for places.
"The two afternoons proved to be highly successful and have been introduced to assist prospective parents and our feeder schools in the process of choosing a suitable senior school," said Paul Green, Assistant Head: Admissions and Communications.
The tests were broken up with two snack breaks, when the children were able to have refreshments from their goody bags, and at the end of the afternoon they joined their parents for tea in the Dining Hall.
"Having to sit the pre-testing didn't faze my daughter at all. Indeed, the children seemed to enjoy getting together for the afternoon. It has been a very positive and useful experience," said one pleased parent.
