Some 230 young musicians took part in the annual Prep Schools' Music Festival in Big School
Some 230 young musicians from schools throughout the local area showed their talent this week at the 22nd annual Epsom College Preparatory Schools' Music Festival.
Pupils from Years 3 to 6 and their teachers gathered in Big School for a day of musical enjoyment, which culminated in a superb informal concert.
Led by the College's Director of Music, Graeme Lodge, the pupils spent the morning practising a number of well known songs, which gave them the opportunity to perform together in a large group. The theme this year was Part of the Family.
Following lunch, it was the turn of Epsom College musicians to showcase their talent. James Hedge, Jake Seabold, Ralph Skan and Ryon Head performed solos, while members of Holman House sang The Flood by Take That and Raven House girls sang Something Inside so Strong by Labi Siffre, arranged by U6th former Annie Bowes.
After tea in Main Hall, delighted parents and their guests heard their children perform such favourite songs as Consider Yourself, My Grandfather's Clock, Two Little Boys and We are Family at the closing concert.
Schools attending the Festival this year included Broomwood Hall, Chinthurst, Cumnor House, Cranmore, Homefield, Kingswood House, Priory and St Andrews.
