Robinson House
Robinson House was founded in 1968 and is named after Dr Henry Robinson, treasurer of the College between 1952 and 1960. The House is situated in the middle of the complex of five boys' houses that stretch from the Main Gate down beside College Road. Paul Gillespie commenced his tenure as Housemaster in September 2016.
Paul studied Economics at Exeter University. He graduated in 1996 before completing his PGCE at Warwick University. Before arriving at Epsom, he taught at Sir William Ramsay School in Buckinghamshire and New Zealand International College in Auckland. He has been at Epsom since 2004 and moves on from his position of Head of Economics and Business Studies, which he has held since 2011.
Paul's first sporting passion is football and he now coaches the U14A XI having previously coached the 1st XI. He has an interest in many sports and he keeps fit with regular running, swimming and playing golf. He also enjoys reading and playing the guitar when time allows.
Paul is married to Sarah, who teaches in the junior school at City of London Freemen's School. They have two daughters, Anna and Daisy.
Paul is looking forward to seeing all the boys flourish. Their experience in Robinson House should help them to find and develop their particular talents, academic and co-curricular, and to take advantage of the enormous breadth of opportunity that Epsom offers. The boys will develop their independence and take on a range of responsibilities, both within the House and in the wider school community, in a manner that fits their individual needs.
