Epsom among top eight Squash schools in the country

On Tuesday 6 March, Epsom Squash players competed in Stage 2 of the National Schools Competition. This was a triangular fixture involving Epsom, Whitgift and Wellington.

The fixture took place on the College courts, so the pupils benefited from a home advantage.

Epsom firstly took on Wellington and, out of a total of 15 games, did not drop a single game. Facing Whitgift, Epsom’s number 1 seed Josh Contain (C) played England Under-19 player James Wyatt. Josh played some excellent rallies against the England player, but could not beat him.

The remainder of the team won all of their matches against Whitgift, securing their place in Stage 3, the quarter-finals of the competition.

Reaching Stage 3 of the National Schools Competition is a significant achievement, effectively placing Epsom in the top eight schools in the country.
