Athletics at Epsom College is traditionally one of the strongest summer sports and is one which is truly co-educational.

The boys and girls train together and often compete together in high-calibre co-educational matches.

Competitive fixtures.

The College competes in the highly prestigious Copenhagen Shield match, hosted by Wellington College and the Lord Burghley match, hosted by Eton College, as well as a number of other home and away matches.

The varied fixture list gives the boys a chance to compete with a number of schools outside our usual fixture list as they challenge for District and County titles.

High-quality coaching.

The coaching is supplied by staff, several of whom have international experience themselves, along with more recent internationals who come in each games afternoon to offer their considerable expertise – including Commonwealth and Olympic experience.

Individual athletes work alongside specific coaches for their events and are encouraged to diversify where possible to complement their main event.

Breadth as well as depth.

All pupils cover all aspects of throwing, jumping and running and there are House competitions and external matches with other schools.

Boys and girls also have the opportunity to compete in District Championships from which individuals often qualify for County trials/selection. The standard achieved by the boys and girls is extremely high, with pupils and former pupils holding many District and County records.

We have a proud tradition of not only sending students to the national finals, but of producing national champions as well. Several have gone on to represent their country.

Epsom College Athletics is highly regarded and, most importantly, as well as being successful the boys and girls thoroughly enjoy their time in the club.
