Propert House is a day House for boys aged 13-18. It is named after the founder of Epsom College, Dr John Propert, and was established in 1883 as one of the School’s original Houses, along with Forest, Fayrer, Granville (then Gilchrist), Wilson (then a boys’ boarding House) and Carr.
The House is situated within the main School building, right at the heart of the College, surrounded by Epsom’s rich history. It is on the second floor of the main building, and is accessed via the stairs in main reception.
Andy has been Housemaster of Propert for five years. He loves being in the classroom and forms strong bonds with all his pupils, so has enjoyed the challenge of overseeing the House. He has been a boarding House tutor for most of his time at Epsom, starting in Propert before moving into Granville, so it seems appropriate that he is back with his original House.
Andy is a keen all-round sportsman. He is an able footballer and has coached the 1st and 2nd XI football teams throughout his time at Epsom. He has also coached the U14A and 2nd XV rugby squads and, as a strong racket player, is involved in both squash and tennis at the College. He is also a passionate road cyclist and has climbed Box Hill in just over six minutes, which is no mean feat.
