Cadets Shine in the Army Open at Bisley

Epsom pupils secure all major prizes, including 'overall top cadet' - boosting hopes of a successful season ahead.

Epsom’s cadets dazzled at the Army Open at Bisley – securing every single cadet prize on offer.

The conditions were extremely challenging and tested each of the eight pupils involved. The competition was open to the public and serving members of the armed forces, attracting a highly competitive field that included former and reigning world champions, Commonwealth Games gold medallists, Sovereign’s Prize winners, and several university teams.

Despite the calibre of the competition, Epsom’s pupils distinguished themselves remarkably. Zoe delivered an outstanding performance, winning the short-range aggregate, which comprised six individual matches between 300 and 600 yards. On Sunday, Aaron triumphed in the long-range aggregate and was crowned the overall top cadet. Both pupils should be exceptionally proud of their achievements.

A special mention must also go to Anqi, who competed as an individual for the first time and was the youngest participant by a considerable margin — a hugely impressive accomplishment at such a young age.

We look forward to building on this success at our upcoming events in the coming weeks.
