Lower School Thrill Seekers Enjoy the Rides

A week of end-of-year exams faded from view as our Lower School pupils headed off for a fun day at Chessington and Thorpe Park

Lower School pupils were able to enjoy a well-deserved day of rest, relaxation and thrill-seeking, death-defying, white-knuckle rides – following a week spent undertaking their end of year exams.

Year 8s went to Thorpe Park, while the Year 7 pupils enjoyed all that Chessington has to offer. Their Head of Year, Sara-Jane Boock and Mark Farmer report.

“The Lower Fourth trip to Thorpe Park was a well-deserved break following the exam week,” said Sara-Jane. “The students enjoyed a full day at the park, making the most of the wide range of attractions on offer.”

Many of the group particularly enjoyed Hyperia and Colossus, despite some long queues. Ice cream and frozen Fanta were also firm favourites and helped keep energy levels up. Even those who are usually less keen on rides found ways to enjoy the experience, whether through the gentler attractions or simply spending time in the sun with friends.

“Mrs Wilson and Mrs Ward were particularly enthusiastic,” Sara-Jane added. “There was general agreement that they went on more rides than anyone else!”

Mark Farmer, said: “Year 7 enjoyed an exciting and well-deserved day at Chessington World of Adventures following a busy week of exams. The trip offered a perfect opportunity for pupils to relax and have fun with their peers.”
