The annual dinner for College Prefects, Housemasters and Housemistresses, an occasion to look back on the contribution made by the Heads of Houses and to recognise their achievements – not only as prefects but as pupils over the course of two, five or seven years – was especially poignant this year. The dinner was also an opportunity to celebrate the outstanding contribution that Mr Williams, Second Master, has made to the life of the College.
The Heads of School reflected on their time, and acknowledged the support and dedication given, to themselves individually as well as to Epsom, by Mr Williams.
The Head, Mark Lascelles, also thanked Mr Williams for “always supporting and developing the house communities, which are the bedrock of the College”. Mr Lascelles went on to praise the Second Master’s kind and thoughtful leadership of the Housemasters and Housemistresses.
“Mr Williams’ attention to detail, and meticulous and consistent approach to all matters will be sorely missed by all,” added Mr Lascelles.
Ms Faith Smith, Senior Housemistress, said: “Above all else, Mr Williams has led generations of College prefects, always putting the good of the pupils and the College at the centre of everything.”
