Apply NowFound in 1855, Epsom College is an independent Co-educational Boarding and Day School for approximately 1170 pupils aged 11 to 18 years. The School is located approximately one mile from Epsom town, below Epsom Downs, in fine buildings set in a beautiful tree filled campus of some 72 acres. There are 13 Houses of which 6 are boarding houses and offers all pupils a wide academic and Co-Curricular programme.
During the summer holidays the College offers a number of residential facilities to external providers, as well as running a number of in house sport and creative programmes for children between 8 and 13 years of age.
The Department
The Facilities department comprises Porters, Housekeepers, Laundry, Domestic Assistants and Reception staff, who all report to the Facilities Manager. Working alongside the Facilities Manager is the Assistant Facilities Manager.

REPONSIBLE TO: Facilities Manager (FM)
Aim
To carry out cleaning and general facilities duties as required during the summer.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
- To carry out any daily cleaning duties (bedrooms, common rooms, washrooms, kitchen areas etc) as required by the FM, AFM or designate working within the facilities department areas of responsibility.
- To assist in sorting both cleaned and soiled laundry items as required.
- To ensure that all tasks within your area of responsibility are completed to the required standard.
- To ensure that deep cleaning and floor maintenance tasks (as required) are carried out according to the work schedules and cleaning standards to the satisfaction of the line manager. FM, AFM or designate.
- To assist in moving furniture and equipment within the campus as required.
- To report any maintenance defects with equipment and within the working environment to the FM, AFM or designate for further action.
- To be aware of responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974. To ensure adherence to relevant regulations. i.e. Fire Safety, Manual Handling, C.O.S.H.H. etc.
- To be aware of the security requirements and the implications of strangers on campus.
- To carry out duties and responsibilities in accordance with safeguarding protocols and procedures.
- To adopt a flexible approach to the role and undertake any other reasonable task as requested by the FM, AFM or designate.

You must be available to work a minimum of 4 weeks during the summer period between Saturday 28 June 2025 to Friday 5 September 2025.
Terms and Conditions
- Salary: £12.21 per hour – hourly paid for the hours worked
- Hours: The days of working and hours of working may change depending upon the weekly requirements. Potentially Monday to Friday 8.00am – 1.30pm, subject to work being available during these days/times plus some weekend work may be required.
- Holidays: In addition to the rate above, holiday entitlement is calculated on a monthly basis based on the hours you have worked and have submitted for payment. The calculation is 12.07% of the hourly rate for each hour worked and the amount of holiday pay paid to you for that month will be itemised on the payslip as “holiday pay”.
- Pension: The College operates the Epsom College Automatic Enrolment Scheme. The Scheme is administered by the Pensions Trust. Eligibility is based on statutory criteria. If eligible, the Employee will be required to contribute a minimum of 5% of Basic Salary and the College will contribute 4% in compliance with current legislation.
