Co-Curricular Diaries: Week 12 – Lacrosse

As a leading school for all-rounders, our pupils enjoy a huge array of clubs, societies and activities. This week we explore Lacrose, with Year 8 pupil Artie.

A new offering at Epsom this year, Lacrosse has proved to be an incredibly popular addition to the activities programme. This takes place on a Tuesday afternoon and is currently open to Years 7, 8 and 9. Year 8 pupil, Artie, tells us more.

What made you choose Lacrosse and how long have you been doing it?

I have chosen lacrosse as my activity for this term because it is something I’ve never done before and I wanted to try a new activity. I have now been doing lacrosse for five weeks.

What do you do each week?

Each week we learn a new skill in an attempt to improve our game skills, such as throwing, catching, and tackling.

What has been your favourite thing about it/what do you enjoy most about it?

I love throwing and working on my accuracy and my power to throw. I love getting to work with my teammates in a sport we have not played before.

Why should someone choose to do Lacrosse?

I think people should choose lacrosse because it is something that is not like other sports and it helps build your collaboration skills.
