Partnerships | Epsom College

We work in partnership with a number of schools, charities, community projects and NGOs. Our aim is to create meaningful and beneficial opportunities for those we work with. We share our facilities, resources, knowledge and experience so that as many people as possible can reach their true potential.

Primary Schools

We partner with over 100 local primary and prep schools each year. Our outreach programme sees teachers visiting schools to take lessons, conduct scientific experiments, lead drama workshops and run art classes.

Our senior pupils support primary-age pupils with literacy and numeracy, they help them to take their first steps with modern languages, and even design and build sensory play equipment in their DT lessons.

We also invite Year 4 and 5 children to the College, to access our facilities and enjoy any number of activities such as our weekly sports masterclasses, science days, public speaking events and sports tournaments – such as the huge cross country event, or the Nat Sciver Sheild for Girls’ Cricket.

Our music and drama workshops see children from a number of schools come to the College, learn new pieces from scratch and then perform to parents in an end-of-day extravaganza (pictured).

Secondary Schools

Over the years we have developed sustained, meaningful partnerships with a number of secondary schools and Sixth Form Colleges in the region. Each of these is built on an exchange of innovative best practice, and a sharing of knowledge, resources and opportunities.

Highlights include our long-standing work with colleagues in the Bourne Education Trust, a partnership of 16 schools throughout Surrey and Hampshire.

We also helped to fund, launch and staff the Invicta Academy, an online ‘pop-up’ school offering catch-up lessons to pupils from disadvantaged parts of Surrey whose education suffered during the Covid pandemic.

Aspiring Oxbridge candidates from schools across Surrey are also supported by the College. We help to guide their applications, giving advice on personal statements and providing one-to-one support for interviews.

We also partnered with Motorsport UK to deliver a day dedicated to getting more girls interested in STEM. Epsom pupils worked with girls from a number of local schools to take on pit stop challenges, science experiments and even try their hand at broadcasting (pictured).

Opening Our Doors

We also work with third parties to widen access to education – including an innovative scheme run by Hockey Inner City (HIC). This is a venture aimed at improving access to hockey for children from backgrounds traditionally under-represented in the sport.

HIC approached Epsom and we were delighted to help. We provided our facilities and top coaches for a day of masterclasses that focused on shooting, dribbling and elimination, defending and ball control. Click the video to learn more.

Our Drama department is privileged enough to have access to a number of fantastic opportunities through London theatres, including the National Theatre’s New Views playwrighting programme. Whenever these opportunities arise, we invite students from local schools to join us so that they too can benefit from these experiences.
