Football at Epsom has grown in both popularity and reputation over recent years. It is the major sport for boys in the Lent term. There are regular fixtures organised for 25 teams across the range of ages and abilities, from 1st-6th XI, Colts A-D, Junior Colts A-E, U14 A-E, 13ABC and 12ABC.

We play a very strong fixture card, as part of the Southern Independent Schools League.

Membership of this league means we compete against the likes of St Paul’s, Tonbridge, Radley, Haileybury, St John’s and Berkhamsted. We also play friendly matches with Cranleigh, Brighton College, Christ’s Hospital, the OEs and the Corinthian Casuals.

Epsom can typically field up to 25 XIs, playing primarily on Saturday afternoons for seniors and Saturday mornings for juniors for our U12 and U13s, from January through to April.

With the provision of external professional coaching, the skill level and tactical appreciation of all squad members have improved dramatically during recent seasons, a trend that is set to continue as we transition from the Surrey, Sussex, Kent League to the Southern Independent League.

We have close links to the Chelsea FC with Academy players from Chelsea, Brighton & Hove Albion and ISFA U18 National, as well as an U15 England trialist.

We also benefit from a large number of visiting FIFA/FA-qualified coaches assigned to our squads, alongside our own coaches and a Games Specialist for Football.

During the Michaelmas term, junior and senior pupils have the opportunity to join elite training sessions during extended activity and under floodlights on grass and astroturf, also assisted by our Chelsea coaches and our own experienced and qualified staff.
