165th Founder’s Day

It was wonderful to welcome parents, families, OEs and guests to the College for our annual Founder’s Day celebrations.

On a gloriously sunny Saturday before half-term the campus was buzzing with activity. On the Cricket pitch, the Boys 1st XI took on the Old Epsomians, while the Houses competed with the usual fierce but friendly rivalry across Athletics, Rounders and Tennis. Our Lower School pupils competed against one another on track and field. A host of College records were broken by athletes across the year groups and House spirit was on full display with lots of side-line cheering and face paint galore!

Guests were able to appreciate the beautiful weather with afternoon tea, picnic hampers, and drinks on Wilson Pitch, accompanied by a festival of music throughout the day. This included performances by a huge range of musicians, solo performers and bands from across the age ranges, alongside some dance routines by the Epsom Dance Company.

There was also an informative and bright Equality, Diversity and Inclusion exhibition on display on Wilson Pitch, run by the Colleges EDI Student Reps and members of the African, Caribbean, Asian & Allies Society (ACAAS) and Genders & Sexualities Alliance (GSA).

The OE Classic Car Club came out in style with beautiful vehicles gleaming in the afternoon sunshine, and all OEs in attendance were able to tour the College and reminisce with their former classmates and friends about their time at the School.

It was a fantastic occasion and it was so wonderful to see so many familiar faces – past, present and future.
