A Celebration of Creativity

This year's GCSE and A-level Photogaphy Exhibition pulled out all the stops - highlighting the depth of creative talent at the College

The Photography department’s annual exhibition of work from GCSE and A-level students was a brilliant display of talent and creativity. The event provides pupils the chance to celebrate all the hard work that has gone into their projects over the past year, with both final pieces and portfolios proudly on show for parents, staff and fellow pupils.

The work covered a wide range of ideas and techniques, with students exploring everything from surrealism and expressionism to cubism and more modern themes. Some standout topics included Society Killed the Teenager, looking at phone addiction, and Social Realism: the Power of Protest. The variety was impressive, and the results were thoughtful, original and visually striking.

Mr Rob Johnstone, Head of Photography, said: “The standard this year really was outstanding. Visitors were impressed not only by the creativity, but also by the technical skill – especially in the digital work. It was clear how much time, effort and imagination the students had put in.”

The exhibition was well attended, with parents, pupils and staff all coming along to support and celebrate the work. Head Mark Lascelles praised the exceptionally high standard of work on display.

If you didn’t get the chance to see the exhibition in person, a selection of the students’ work is shared below.
