A clean sweep against Sutton Valence for the Hockey sides

On a glorious day of sporting success, all eleven hockey sides were victorious against Sutton Valence on Saturday.

The 1st team set the standard with an excellent win in their best team performance of the season. Grace Crompton (R) scored twice in a 4-1 win where Tassy Williams (R) and Cecilia Sacklen (M) dominated the midfield and Liz Phizackerley (Cr) the defence.

The 2nd team have played some sparkling hockey this season but on Saturday they just scrapped hard to get the job done, coming from behind twice to win 3-2, with Emilie Cashman (R) playing a leading role.

The 3rd team won easily 6-0, with two goals for Clara Alexis (R) and Ella Nigrelli (Rv), while Isabel Burke (Rv) controlled the midfield.

The 5th team had a match against Cranleigh’s 4th XI and despite playing well in the first half, they slipped to defeat late on.

The U15As won well 5-1 with Gina Liebenberg (Rv) scoring a hat-trick and Paige Chamberlain (Cr) both creative and destructive at the back. The B team won 2-0 with Mia Smiley (Rv) scoring and also player of the match.

In the U14s there were excellent wins for the As (5-2) and Bs (7-1). In the A team, five different players scored goals and Lucy Picken (Wh) and Polly Campbell (Rv) were the stand out players.

In the Bs Lara Mully (R) scored four goals while Furaha Wasunna’s (W) was impressive in midfield. The C team drew 0-0 with King’s Canterbury.

The U13As won 8-0 with Amy Henwood (Hu) the stand out player, while Grace Gardner (GH) scored four goals in the B team’s 6-1 win. The Cs won and the Ds drew against Tormead B and C teams.

The U12s were equally successful, with wins for the As (7-2), Lucy Campbell (Hu) scoring four times, the Bs (3-0) thanks to a Seren Callaghan (Hu) hat-trick, and the Cs (5-4) where Sophie Bustard (Wa) also scored three goals.
