An Uproarious Evening with Rob Brydon

Comedian and actor, Rob Brydon, entertained a packed Big School audience with stories of his journey from south Wales to his recent role in global blockbuster Barbie.

In an entertaining discussion, hosted by Sir Anthony, Rob shared hilarious stories of his career, from the very beginning where he found his love of drama at school in Porthcawl and met his long-term colleague and friend Ruth Jones, his period of voiceover work, through to his well-known shows such as Would I Lie To You, Gavin and Stacey and The Trip, culminating in his recent role in the film Barbie.

Rob was hugely engaging and held the crowd in the palm of his hand, entertaining them with voiceovers, impressions and songs; standout among them had to be pitch-perfect impersonations of Mick Jagger and Tom Jones.

Along with many laugh-out-loud moments, Rob also talked about the importance of the love and support that his parents have given him throughout his career, and he encouraged children to follow their dreams and do what they love as a career.

Not wanting the evening to come to an end, Sir Anthony rounded off the event by inviting audience members to ask Rob questions. In a surprise turn of events, the evening ended with the audience entertaining Rob, as they joined in unison to sing Happy Birthday to Rob, who turned 59 this week.

Our sincere thanks to Rob for giving the Epsom community a truly memorable evening.
