Brick by Brick, The Mermaid Rises

In this term’s Final Roll, the Headmaster has revealed that two of the bricks in the Mermaid will be named in recognition of the education that his youngest children – George (Rn 2012-16) and Emma (Rv 2014-2019) – enjoyed at Epsom College.

Mr Piggot says: “My wife, Poppy, and I feel blessed that during our 10 years at the College, two of our children were able to enter the College, find happiness and garner things that will matter to them for the rest of their lives. Towards that end, Poppy and I have named two bricks in The Mermaid in appreciation of the education our children received in this community.”

The Headmaster is not alone. Following the light show created by the Development Team, over £40,000 has been raised toward The Mermaid, with many pupils and families sponsoring bricks. But there is still time to leave a legacy for Epsom’s future pupils.

Director of Development, Miss Helen Tranter, says: “I would like to thank all who have donated to our Mermaid campaign and supported our brick appeal. There is still time to support the project and leave a lasting legacy. A brick may be named after you, your children, your family, or even perhaps after a teacher, tutor or friend. All donations of any size are most welcome. Bricks are £250 each and for contributions of £500 or over, your name will also appear on the Donor Board.”
