Cricketers Face Strong Opposition From Trinity School

The block fixture against Trinity School, Croydon, on Saturday saw a sharing of the spoils as Epsom won four matches, Trinity won four, and there was one tie.

The 1st XI just failed to chase down the Trinity target, despite 72 from Makeen Alikhan (Rn).

The 2nd team won comfortably though, taking ten wickets in seven overs to dismiss Trinity for 58, thanks to five wickets for Ruan Oliver (P).

The U15As were indebted to a superb innings of 82no by Jamie Taylor (P), guiding them home in a tense finish, while the U15Bs tied their match as Trinity faltered in their run chase thanks to great bowling from Lower Fourth Tomas Harrington (GH) who took four late wickets including the last one with one needed for a Trinity win.

The U14As disappointed with the bat in their match, but the U14Bs march on unbeaten after a half-century from Josh Jones (H) and four wickets from Ella Clinton (Cr). Ed Marriott (C) took three wickets for the C team as they bowled and fielded superbly to close out a narrow victory.

Meanwhile, the U13As competed well against strong opposition, as did the U14A Girls team in their close match against Benenden.
