Epsom College Far East Travels

In October 2019, Helen Tranter hosted events in both Kuala Lumpur and Hong Kong. Huge gratitude is proffered to Tan-Sri Teo (current parent) for hosting a drinks reception at the One World Hotel in central Kuala Lumpur and to all who attended. Funds were raised for the College’s Mermaid Campaign and guests were given the opportunity to hear about the College’s recent achievements. A special mention goes to Jeremy Diamond (H-S/F 1952-58) and Kalsom Diamond.  Jeremy is the OE Malaysia and Singapore Chapter President and will be organising events in these locations in the near future. We will, of course, let you know about forthcoming dates and fixtures.

A trip to Hong Kong swiftly followed and three OE Chapter events were held. The College is enormously grateful to Andy Chan (current parent) and his family for hosting a wine tasting at his restaurant, elBorn, in Causeway Bay, and also to Heng Loong Cheong (Fa 1988-93) and the OE Hong Kong Chapter for providing the wine and connoisseurs. The evening proved to be a great success and we thank the Chan family for their generosity and support and the OE Hong Kong Chapter for their continued help and benefaction.

Next was a drinks reception in Kowloon followed by a brunch event at the Hong Kong Cricket Club. We are grateful to Nick Ritter (W 1991-96) for his help with the brunch. All three events provided great opportunities for our Hong Kong community to meet, network and hear about the current developments at the College.  Helen, and everyone in the Education Trust and OE Club, would like to thank the OEs and parents who made these events possible and to those who have given so generously in support of the Mermaid Campaign.

OEs in Hong Kong are encouraged to join the Epsom College Hong Kong Chapter group on LinkedIn and all OEs are invited to join the Old Epsomian Club Official Group. Please also follow us on Facebook.
