Epsom Pupil Stars In His Debut PGA Tour

Year 11 pupil Kris Kim makes his PGA Tour debut next week in the USA

Kris Kim is Epsom College’s rising golf star. Hot on the heels of a standout 2023, he steps out for his PGA Tour debut next week at the TPC Craig Ranch golf course in Texas.

Due to sit his GCSEs this summer, Kris is set to be one of the youngest players in this event and will be competing with 143 other PGA tour regulars – including some of the world’s top golfers.

Kris is a member of Walton Heath Golf Club and enjoyed an incredibly successful 2023 – including victories in the Boys’ Amateur Championship, European Boys’ Individual Championship and the McGregor Trophy. The highlight of the year, however, was a stunning undefeated performance on his debut in the Junior Ryder Cup that saw him claim three wins and a half point in Europe’s first victory in the match since 2006.

Speaking ahead of his first PGA Tour start, Kris said: “I’m so excited to tee it up in Texas. It’s what you work towards all the time and it’s an amazing opportunity. I can’t wait to play in front of big crowds again. I’ve never hit the ball as far as I did at the Ryder Cup. The adrenalin rush makes golf so much fun. That said, having played that course, and a few more tour courses, I appreciate the enormity of the task ahead and am looking forward to the challenge.”

The event can be viewed live on Sky Sports Golf from Thursday 2 May to Sunday 5 May and we will all be cheering Kris on!
