Epsom Wins First Prize in Joy and Sorrow Art Competition

A group of Middle Fourth pupils attend Extended Art Friday – an opportunity to expand upon their classroom work. The group decided to enter the Epsom Mental Health Competition entitled Joy and Sorrow.

The pupils (pictured) worked in smaller teams and produced an interesting response to the set themes. We were delighted to learn they had won first prize in the 11-18 years age range within the borough of Epsom.

On 11 October, Helen Keevil, Assistant Head: Pupil Welfare, Monica Wraith, Art Teacher, and eight pupils attended the award ceremony at St Barnabas Church Epsom. The pupils were thrilled to receive a cheque for £100. They have decided to donate some of the money to a local charity.
