Epsom’s Super Seven Sportswomen

The College is incredibly proud of seven members of the College community, four Old Epsomians and three current staff, who are representing England in a variety of sports at the top of their game.

Natalie Sciver (Rv 2006-11) and Alice Davidson-Richards (W 2007-12) were both selected for England in the one-off Test against South Africa at Taunton in June,  hitting maiden hundreds in a sixth-wicket partnership on day two. It was a fabulous debut for Alice, who received her first England Test cap. At the Commonwealth Games, the England team, captained by Nat, was pipped to the Bronze medal by New Zealand.

Grace Crompton (R 2015-20) has been representing England in Rugby 7s with their trophy-winning Rugby Europe Sevens Trophy Series tournaments in Zagred and Budapest, and represented Team England at the Commonwealth Rugby Sevens.

In further Commonwealth Games news, Eboni Usoro-Brown, née Beckford-Chambers (Wh 2004-06), represented England in the netball squad which got through to the semi-final (Eboni has since announced her retirement from netball);  College Athletics coach, Jessie Knight, came 5th in the 400m hurdles; and Assistant Director of Hockey, Rose Thomas, was goalkeeper for the Wales hockey team. As we write this, Head of PE, Sarah Cockayne, is playing for England in the over 40s Hockey World Cup and to date, England have won their first three matches.
