Epsom’s 1st team got past the challenge of Reigate Grammar in the HMC Foursomes. In the next round, Epsom find themselves up against Kingston Grammar School.
Kris Kim (Fa) and Oscar Lent (P): Won 7 & 6
Another vintage display by the young pair, who showed their immense talent as they blew away their opponents. After birdies at the first in four holes, the final result was never in doubt.
Alex McWilliam (Fa) and Will Hewett (H): Lost 4 & 3
A tough day on the course for Alex and Will with their opponents playing some very good golf to shoot two over par. The Epsom pair struggled to hit fairways and hole putts which made it hard to win holes, however they will surely come back stronger in the coming matches.
Jamie Reid (Rn) and Jamie Taylor (P): Won 6 & 5
Epsom’s last pair put in a brilliant performance to win in emphatic fashion. The pair played steady match-play golf by hitting fairways and greens, and in doing so kept their opponents under pressure throughout. This strong performance by a third pair shows our considerable strength in depth.
