Holman Boys Represent at Royal Society of Chemistry Challenge

The team of four travelled to Kingston University to compete at the regional finals.

Following their victory in the Inter-House Year 10 Chemistry Challenge, four Holman boys represented the College in the regional finals of the Royal Society of Chemistry’s ‘Chemistry Challenge’ held at Kingston University this week.

The team of Alex Okonkwo, Paddy Purves, Jasper Won and Andrew Wong spent an afternoon completing a series of challenging theoretical and practical experiments, followed by a tour of the research laboratories where they were able to witness first-hand the use of advanced analytical techniques such as: mass spectrometry, high-performance liquid chromatography and nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy.

This is the first time that a team from Epsom College has made the regional finals and the boys acquitted themselves very well, placing 5th overall in the region. Well done Team Holman!
