Lower Sixth Peer Mentors Host Evening For Parents

Twenty Lower Sixth Youth Ambassadors, trained by the Daniel Spargo Mabbs Foundation, hosted an evening for 50 parents, on exposure to drugs and alcohol.

The aim of the session was to provide insight into the world of drugs and alcohol surrounding teenagers, and to give parents the confidence to help their children make the right decisions when they arise.

This evening covered the levels of young people’s exposure to drugs and alcohol, the factors that affect their decisions, the world of festivals, and tips on how to support children to stay safe.

The evening was in partnership with the Daniel Spargo Mabbs Foundation, a drugs and alcohol awareness charity with the aim of educating the public on substance abuse. The charity was created after Fiona, founder of the charity, sadly lost her son when he overdosed on MDMA at an illegal rave.
