Mike Hobbs retires after 39 years at the College

On 25th June, Headmaster Jay Piggot posted the following on Twitter: “Job thoroughly well done. Mike Hobbs teaches his final lesson after 39 years of outstanding service to the College. Ineffable thanks to this remarkable all-round schoolmaster.”

Mike undertook his teaching practice at the College in 1978-79, returning in 1981 to take up the post of Biology teacher.  He has seen countless OEs through the medical school application process in his role as Medical Careers Advisor for 17 years.  Mike was also the Common Room representative on the OE Club Committee for over 20 years.

We look forward to seeing Mike at future OE events and in the meantime, wish him a fabulous retirement!  A full article on Mike’s time at the College as a teacher, Forest Housemaster, Tutor and cricket/rugby coach will appear in the next edition of the OE Magazine.
