The Symphony Orchestra began proceedings in an upbeat manner with a rousing performance of a medley of film music from the James Bond franchise. The Senior Concert Band impressed with a contrasting pair of pieces – the first a groovy samba-inspired arrangement, and the second an earthy and visceral piece that allowed the percussion to shine! The Acapella, Barbershop, and Funk Band also impressed with high-quality performances to round off the evening.
Mr Johnson-Hyde, the Director of Music, praised the commitment of our pupils, especially the number of exam-year pupils who volunteered to play in the concert, despite having an exam the next morning.
