Five local prep schools joined the College Biology Department for a Crime Scene Investigation day; Broomwood Hall, Fulham Prep, Parkside, The Roche and The Study Prep.
Carrying out forensic analysis of a mock-up crime scene, the students were exposed to practical apparatus and procedure normally reserved for the Sixth Form. Working to solve a fictitious break-in, the Year 5s analysed blood types, dusted and lifted fingerprints and studied hair follicles.
With the ‘culprit’ safe behind bars, the pupils were then given a tour of Biology and were rewarded with the opportunity to see our resident blue tits feeding their five fledgling young via a remote video camera.
