Record Results In Royal Society Of Biology National Challenge

The Royal Society’s Biology Challenge typically sees 40,000 students across the UK compete. The aim of the competition is to stimulates students’ curiosity for the natural world and to encourage them to take an interest in biology outside of school.

This year, Epsom’s students were awarded four Gold medals, ten Silver, and 13 Bronze, alongside a further 47 students receiving commendations. This is a record for the College.
Questions are based on the school curriculum, but the competition also rewards those students whose knowledge of the subject has been increased by reading books and magazines, watching natural history programmes, taking notice of the news media for items of biological interest, and are generally aware of our natural flora and fauna.
