The 1st VII continued their preparations for the Surrey and National 7s this month, winning the Reed’s 7s last Sunday. Comprehensive wins against Gordon’s, St John’s and Felsted School in their pool saw them finish top, as pool winners and progressed through to a straight final. The opponents were Framlingham College, who topped their pool with wins against Oratory and Emanuel School.
The final was a one-sided affair, tries from George Holmes (G), Fraser Law (Rn), Kade Bird (Fa), Sam Waugh (F), Lucas Schmid (Fa) and two from Jasper Lawler (P) sealed an impressive win. After the disappointment of not qualifying out of their pool last week at Hampton, it was really pleasing to see how well the group performed. Lots of positives as we look forward to defending our Surrey 7s title for a third time on Wednesday.
