Sport Round Up – 3 March

Our 1st and U14 Netball teams reached the semi-finals of national cups in exciting games this week.

The 1st team beat Alleyn’s 29-23 in the National Plate quarter-final and the U14s defeated Reigate Grammar School 20-19 to reach the semi-finals of the Sisters in Sport Plate competition, playing Sandringham School next week. The 1st team narrowly missed out on a national semi-final place in the final quarter against Millfield this week, having led for most of the quarter-final match.

In Hockey the 1st XI beat St Bede’s 6-0 to top their group in the South Tier 1 National Competition. Two goals from captain Jess Dyson (Upper Sixth, White), one from Georgie Jarvis Sobey (Lower Sixth, Crawfurd) and a hat-trick from Yasi Fryer (Lower Sixth, Raven) to secure that position means the team will now play Surbiton High in the National Quarter Finals next week.

In Rugby 7s, the U15s won the Surrey 7s Tournament on Tuesday with a stunning display of rugby from the talented team. Special mention for William Speight (Year 10, Propert) who scored six tries, Flynn Roberts (Year 10, Fayrer) who scored five and Luc Springate (Year 10, Fayrer) who touched down three. Arthur Garfield (Year 10, Propert) who successfully converted 20 times and Will Leutert (Year 10, Fayrer) who was stand out at the break down.

The U16s reached the quarter-final of the Surrey tournament after winning the Plate at the RGS Guildford 7s Tournament last Sunday.

Our Football 2nd XI lost in the ISFA London Cup quarter-final 7-6 on penalties after a thrilling 2-2 draw.

The boys enjoyed a highly competitive and technically challenging Futsal tournament at Sevenoaks this week, with the U18 team winning the tournament.
