Summer Term Concludes With Prize Giving and Fond Farewells

What has been an outstanding year for Epsom College drew to a fitting conclusion today, with pupils, parents, governors and staff gathered in the marquee for the College’s annual Prize Giving Ceremony. The Very Reverend Dianna Gwilliams, Dean of Guildford presented the prizes, after which guests enjoyed canapés and wine on the College lawns.

The year began with another set of record exam results, across both GCSE and A-level. We were then delighted to have been judged by the Department of Education to be among the top 2% of schools in England, based on the value we add to our pupils’ education at A-level. A result that is testament to the hard work, dedication and support of our staff, and the tireless efforts of our pupils.

Then, at the start of 2019 the ISI paid Epsom a visit and ran the rule over the quality of our educational provision, and the outcomes, achievements and personal development of our pupils. On all fronts, the inspectors awarded Epsom top marks, rating the quality of education ‘excellent’ in all regards. Rarer still was the fact they could find no areas in which to recommend improvement. This is an outcome that very few schools in the UK enjoy.

Today however, we celebrate the true stars of Epsom College: our pupils.

We wish those leaving us the fondest farewell, and the very best of luck as you embark on the next stage of your lives. It has been a pleasure to work and live among you, and we hope that you remain part of the Epsom community for many years to come.
