The Inaugural Shephard Cup CCF Competition

In a first for the College, the City of London Freemen’s School came to Epsom to take part in the Shephard Cup – a CCF competition based on traditional fieldcraft skills: first aid, fitness, drill and shooting. The competition is named after inspirational Old Epsomian, Craig Shephard, who was awarded the Military Cross in November 2009 for service to his country while on tour in Afghanistan. The type of skills that Craig demonstrated are invaluable to all infantry soldiers.

This CCF competition fostered tremendous teamwork, discipline and a pride in the CCF. In the end the competition was won by Freemen’s but all cadets learnt a great deal.

Sincere thanks go to, SSI Sgt Stokes, Lt Bates, Capt Holmes, Lt Jones and Mr Emeny for their help.
