To commemorate Holocaust memorial week some of our M4 historians have been on a virtual trip to the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp in Poland. With overseas school trips unable to happen in the current climate the department took the opportunity to go on a unique virtual tour which has been produced by TCBC school tours.
Students learnt about this unfathomable historical event by visiting the site where over 1 million people lost their lives. Although it can in no way replace the experience of visiting this site in person the pupils were able to reflect and acknowledge that those who do not know the past are deemed to repeat it.
