Sport Round Up – 25 November

In Football the 1st team lost on penalties in the County Cup but are looking ahead to playing The Manchester Grammar School in the last 16 of the ISFA competition on Thursday 8 December.

Our Hockey teams played again St John’s on Friday evening. There was a 0-2 loss for the U16As in the cup but a hard fought 0-0 draw in front of 200+ spectators for the 1st XI in the Tier 1 Cup match. The rest of the block was hugely successful – 14 wins or draws out of 19 matches for the teams from U12s upwards.

Our Lower School Netball teams played well against Wallington High School For Girls midweek, and the U14As battled hard but sadly didn’t make it through in the Nationals on Sunday.

There were narrow losses against Brighton College for the Rugby 1st and 2nd teams but good wins for the 4ths, U16As, all U15 teams and the U14As. There were also wins against RGS Guildford for the U12As and Bs, Star performance was Freddie Carty (Year 10, Robinson) with six tries for the U15As.

Epsom’s co-ed U12 and U14s Swimming team came out top in a gala against Dunottar School.

A big highlight of this week was Epsom Squash players of all ages getting through the group stages in the Nationals. There was individual success for Savannah Ingledew (Lower Sixth, Crawfurd) in the U19 category and Maja Maziuk (Year 10, Wilson) in the U17s, both finishing runners-up in the Warwick Junior Open.
