Sport Round Up – 11 November

In Squash, Ronnie Hickling (Year 10, Carr) took home the national title at the British Junior Championships over the half term break. Ronnie flew through his games – winning them all – to take home another national title at U15 level. Others from the Epsom College team did well at the tournament. Well done to Luke McBride (Year 8) who played up an age category and came 8th in the U15 boys tournament, Zachary Woolven (Year 10, Carr) who came 10th in the U15 boys and Wilf Baker (Year 11, Fayrer) who came 17th out of 64 in the U17 category.

The U14A Girls Squash team did well to progress through the first round of the National Cup in 1st position.  

In Football, the 1st XI beat Hollyfield School 7-0 in the first round of the County Cup.

In Golf, Oscar Lent (Year 11, Propert) won the Surrey U18 scratch knockout title.

Holly Justice (Year 9, Rosebery) has had a fantastic season on the Surrey Rookie Tour, winning the overall Surrey Golf Rookie U14 Girls Scratch and Handicap Order of Merit Awards as well as picking up five individual titles throughout the season.

The U14 Girls Hockey team won all five games at the Surrey Finals, hosted at the College, and took home Gold. They now will progress to the Area Finals. The 1st XI beat Cranleigh 3-0 to maintain their unbeaten record in the Tier 1 National Competition and sit top of the South league.

The Netball 1St team won 27-25 in a hard-fought match against St Catherine’s School, advancing through to the next round of the SNS Cup.

The Rugby 1st XV won 15-12 vs Hurstpierpoint in the National Plate Area Knockout Final.
